The Atlanta Regional Commission and the Livable Communities Coalition are joint partners in the promotion of the Developments of Excellence Awards program.

2008 Developments of Excellence Nomination Form

The award is given to developments in the 10 - county metro region that exemplify the policies and practices of ARC’s Regional Development Plan. Developments are eligible for selection as a Development of Excellence if they advance the policies and best development practices of the Regional Development Plan. Past award winners include developments that show how great design can create a "positive framework for the future" today and showcase how our community is creating innovative and successful developments for the future in the Atlanta Region.

The 2007 Development of Excellance Winners are:

2007 Development of Excellence-West Village by The Pacific Group, Branch Properties, and Highland Companies
2007 Livable Center Initiative Achievement Award- Downtown Duluth by City of Duluth, Dan Woodley Communities, and Spohntown Corporation
Exceptional Merit Award for Urban Revitalization- Park Pavilion by Legacy Property Group
Exceptional Merit Award for Transit Oriented Development and Affordable Housing- Twelve Centennial Park by Novare, ANDP, and ADA
Exceptional Merit Award for Conservation Design- Serenbe by Serenbe Development Corporation
Exceptional Merit Award for Sustainable Building and Design- Gwinnett County Environmental and Heritage Center by Gwinnett County, Lord Aeck and Sargent, and Juneau Construction Company

West Village 2007 DOE Winner

The 2007 Development of Excellence (DOE) Awards were presented this year at the State of the Region Breakfast in November and will be presented again at the Regional Roundtable and Awards Lunch in December.

Examples of past winners include Downtown Woodstock, Glenwood Park, Metropolis, Technology Square, Centergy, Riverside, Ridenour, Lindbergh City Center, Millennium in Midtown, Old Suwanee, and Milton Park.
