Following are examples of ordinances that have been adopted by cities and counties throughout the country. While the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) is not promoting a single "model ordinance," the ordinances listed were selected because they represent various implementations of the same policy. These examples are intended to guide cities and counties in the development of local ordinances. Local governments will need to consider their own unique circumstances as they develop similar ordinances and policies.
