Training & Education Services
The Atlanta Regional Workforce Board (ARWB) and the Atlanta Regional Commission (ARC) offer a variety of services through a system of one-stop Career Resource Centers. Basic and advanced services are available to assist individuals seeking employment, training and education services. Your county of residence determines the Career Resource Center that you should contact. Funding for training is provided on a priority basis for residents of Cherokee, Clayton, Douglas, Fayette, Gwinnett, Henry and Rockdale counties. Individuals who have been laid off from their jobs from companies in these counties are also given priority status for training, regardless of where they reside.
Training is available through the Individual Training Account (ITA) system. A listing of approved schools and programs may be found on the Georgia Career Information Center and the Georgia Department of Labor websites. The approved training list includes training for occupations and jobs that are considered to be "in-demand" as determined by local labor markets and that offer high starting salaries and provide career advancement opportunities. All approved schools and programs are evaluated and go through a selection process before appearing on the Eligible Provider list and are updated on a regular basis. Funding may be approved for up to a maximum of two years.
The Kaiser Permanente Bridge Program (PDF) is designed to help obtain health care coverage for a low monthly charge for up to 24 months. Eligible applicants must be enrolled in a training or education program that leads to an accreditation, certificate, degree, or diploma (GED or highschool). You must be a customer of our Career Resouce Centers or approved workforce program. To apply or for more information, contact the ARWB Career Resource Centers. Additional eligibility requirements apply.
