As of October 1, 2008, this project is no longer taking new applications.

The Atlanta Regional Workforce Board has received a special pilot project to develop career advancement accounts for low-income individuals and displaced workers in the metro Atlanta region.

Career Advancement Accounts (CAAs) are self-managed personal training accounts. Individuals in need of new skills may receive funds to $4,500 to pay for expenses related to training and education.

CAAs increase customer choice, reduce paperwork, fast-tracks customers into training and increases the customer’s decision making role in their careers.

Career Advancement Accounts may be available to individuals who meet low-income guidelines or have been laid off from their job due to company downsizing through no fault of their own.  Additional eligibility requirements apply.

For more information, read the Commonly Asked Questions about CAAs or contact one of the ARWB Career Resource Centers.
